Unfortunately, there is no easy, one size fits all response. Depending on your unique goals and circumstances, the timeline varies. Sessions are usually 45-53 minutes long, and depending on schedules occur on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly frequency.
You are welcome to remain in the waiting room area while your child completes their session. You are also free to run an errand or wait in your vehicle. We ask that you are present in the building within five minutes of your child’s session ending to ensure timely transitions for everyone.
According to the Association for Play Therapy, play therapy is a powerful tool for addressing cognitive, behavioral, and emotional challenges. Play is essential to human growth, development, learning, and forming relationships. Play can help children better process their experiences and develop more effective strategies for managing their worlds. Specifically chosen toys and games are used to build trust, regulate emotions, promote creative thinking, encourage communication, increase self-esteem, and encourage problem-solving.
